Charles Duhigg

Charles Duhigg (born 1974) is an American journalist, author, and former reporter for The New York Times. He is best known for his books on habits and productivity:
“The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business” (2012) – A bestselling book that explores the science of habit formation and how to change habits. It spent over 3 years on the New York Times bestseller list.
“Smarter Faster Better: The Secrets of Being Productive in Life and Business” (2016) – Examines the science of productivity and how to be more efficient.
“Supercommunicators: How to Unlock the Secret Language of Connection” (2024) – His latest book about the art of communication and connection.
Duhigg was part of the New York Times team that won the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting for their series on Apple’s business practices. He has received numerous other awards for his journalism work.
In addition to writing books, Duhigg has worked as a reporter for The New York Times (2006-2017) and The New Yorker magazine. He previously wrote for the Los Angeles Times covering business, media, and the Iraq War.
Duhigg attended Yale University and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently resides in Santa Cruz, California with his family.
